When my mother died suddenly 30 years ago, I was 13. I’d spend the next 20 years attempting to understand what it means not to have a mother. And I did this basically alone.Mostly, this was because my mother’s parents, who raised me, were old-fashioned folks who lived through the Dust Bowl. They didn’t discuss feelings, good or bad. I never once saw my grandfather shed a tear after his daughter died. Plus, our town was in the rural plains of Colorado, hours away from any city with services like a grief therapist, even if my grandparents had been open to that. But the silence around grief also was a product of the times. I am encouraged to see that now a mom’s death is generally not handled the same way it was in 1993.There are many kinds of support today, from the organized to the grassroots. Grief can be talked about and shared more publicly, experts say, and is acknowledged to last a long time. Motherless children can attend special summer camps, for instance, or Mother...Última hora y noticias de la guerra de Rusia en Ucrania: Zelensky agradece a Alemania por paquete de ayuda militar de US$ 3.000 millones

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — The Employment Law Center of Maryland has recently adopted an artificial intelligence tool that acts as a legal assistant — a move that an attorney at the center says will help close the gap for access to justice. The nonprofit law firm has been using the tool — called CoCounsel — for the past few months to complete time-intensive tasks like legal research, drafting documents and contracts and reviewing documents. It’s become an integral part of the day-to-day work, the center’s managing attorney, Joseph Gibson, said.Gibson said the firm was amazed by CoCounsel’s capabilities.“Candidly, I think our first reaction involves some expletives because we were blown away by the tool,” Gibson said. “And then we really dug in and started using it.”Casetext, the legal AI company that developed CoCounsel, says it can do “document review, legal research memos, deposition preparation, and contract analysis in minutes.”Casetext had the Law Center beta test the tool and give f...!Viva Streets! event closes Broadway & Welton Street through downtown
